KIKOFF Kensington to Relocate

Written by KIKOFF | 15/12/2015 11:18:17 PM

Our popular 5-a-side facility in Kensington Park will relocate following its forced closure by Randwick City Council on December 31, 2015.
KIKOFF has run five-a-side competitions and coaching seven days a week at the Kensington Bowling Club since 2011. The facility has been making a valuable contribution to the health and wellbeing of the local community and has played an integral part in many children’s lives, with over 650 school aged children engaged in coaching activities at the centre every week. Australia has a serious problem with child obesity, and facilities like KIKOFF’s provide kids with the opportunity to be healthy and active all year round.

Despite the support of Councillors Roberts, Belelli, D'Souza and Stevenson, Randwick Council voted to discontinue KIKOFF’s license in June 2015 and despite assurances by council that a new location would be found for 5-a-side football, none was presented.  KIKOFF therefore sought alternative arrangements and will be relocating to Eastcourts Tennis Centre.

“My 2 boys have been playing at Kikoff 3 times a week, and the facility has been incredible in their development as footballers, because of the high quality surface to practice and compete in well organized competitions, they have also become a lot more involved in the local community through this facility” Gary – Kingsford Resident

For KIKOFF to be able to continue its operations within the Randwick LGA is a great benefit to the local community. The immediate future of KIKOFF and 5-a-side football in the Eastern Suburbs is now secure.

“We are extremely pleased to be able to continue to provide the Randwick Community with a safe place to play football. Eastcourts Tennis Centre is a fantastic family friendly venue and the inclusion of KIKOFF will only increase the opportunities available at the facility.” Oli Bramley - Managing Director, KIKOFF

KIKOFF Kensington will be relocating to Eastcourts Tennis Centre after we are kicked of the Kensington Bowling Club site site on December 31, 2015. The old 5-a-side football facility in Kensington will be demolished by Council and replaced with a 16 space car park as part of a $4.2million renovation of the Bowling Club to create two meeting rooms.

Junior Holiday Soccer and Tennis Camps will run throughout January - for more information and to register please see the Holiday Soccer Camps page.

Casual bookings for adults will be available from Feb 1, 2016 between 6.30-10pm. Block bookings are now being taken - contact us for more details.

All senior competitions will be moving to KIKOFF Fraser Park, unfortunately there will be no adult competitions at Eastcourts.
