KIKOFF Soccer Centres hosted the Australian finals tournament of the Football Fives World Championship on March 22/23, 2014. Teams from across the country competed in qualifying with 32 teams earning their place in the 2-day finals tournament. In the end there was one team, Bosnia, who won an all-expenses paid trip to Dubai to represent Australia and compete in the World finals in May, 2014.
Now we are proud to bring you the official event video - featuring some of Australia's finest amateur players giving their all...and some.
The finals took place over a warm weekend in Sydney. Teams from Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra made their way to KIKOFF Fraser Park to battle it out to be crowned Australian Amateur Five a side Champions. 32 teams started on Day 1, playing in groups of four with the top two from each group progressing to Day 2 which would be a straight knockout tournament. In the end there were two teams, Old Haileybury FC from Melbourne and Bosnia from Sydney. It was a very tight game with a single goal from Ahmed Chandab proving all that was needed after a nifty bit of footwork in the first half to seal the win.
Team Bosnia will now be flown to Dubai in June to represent Australia against 31 teams from around the World to find out who is crowned the Football Fives World Champions!
